Keeping everyone safe whilst at camp is our main priority and this includes the parents, children and staff.
We know that the current pandemic has particular concerns for staff and we can reassure you that our activity camps will be a COVID-19 secure environment for you to work in. We’re looking forward to welcoming you back in 2021!
The 4 P's
We have developed 4 key strategies for keeping our staff safe whilst working at camp.
Roles available at Easter
In order to accommodate the group sizes (bubbles) and ensuring COVID-19 appropriate activities we need to adapt the team structure to proactively support staff whilst reducing contact. This means that we will be removing some of our more specialist roles and instead we are asking that staff are more flexible in delivering a variety of activities from sports to creative sessions. Barracudas will provide manuals and resources to staff to assist with delivering activities that you may have limited knowledge of.
For Easter, we are introducing a Bubble Leader and a Bubble Support Role.
The Bubble Leader will work with the same group of children all week ensuring they are having the best experience on camp. They will oversee health and safety, behaviour management and delivering sessions. They will also be responsible for specific cleaning protocols including the cleaning of equipment and cleanliness in the base room. They will also encourage good hygiene within the group and monitor the health of the children within their bubble.
The Bubble Support role will work alongside the Bubble Leader to assist in all areas. This could be assisting with the delivery of sessions, providing first aid to children, accompanying children around camp and child welfare. The Bubble Support will also be a key part of our cleaning protocols. Responsibilities will include monitoring and preparation of cleaning supplies, cleaning assigned daily and weekly areas and cleaning high touch areas at least twice a day. They will also ensure if someone has displayed COVID-19 symptoms all areas including the quarantine room are thoroughly cleaned and PPE has been disposed of correctly.
We will also have an Archery Instructor specialist role who will be working at one specific camp or may be a Roaming Instructor and work at several camps in a close area to deliver fun archery sessions. This is slightly different to our Multi Activity role as we will not be offering motorsports at Easter.
We are hopeful that summer operations will be back to normal so when applying we ask that you apply for one of the summer roles. During your telephone interview or returner catch up call we will discuss what role you will be contracted as each season. In the event that you are allocated Group Staff for Easter it will be your Camp Manager during your Induction Training who will assign if you are a Bubble Leader or Bubble support.
