Our theme days are a great excuse for everyone to dress up and have a good time at our children's camps!
You don't have to spend hours or fortunes making or buying costumes in advance (unless you want to). The children will be able to make props during camp.
Every Friday at camp we invite the kids to go wild and wear something to match our theme. They can be as subtle, or crazy as they like. We love to see how their imaginations work!
We set the theme well ahead of camp, so there's plenty of time to get prepared.
We'll also share some easy costume ideas on our blog page to help you out before our Easter camps and summer camps open.
Whether they've always wanted to be their favourite sports star, princess, pirate or superhero their dreams can come true during theme days.
*Participation is non-compulsory
Get your imagination fired up and come as anything make believe. This could be a mythical creature like a unicorn or dragon or a character from your favourite story. Vampires, wizards, witches and mermaids are all welcome!
*Only open at Huntingdon camp
In honour of National Farm Animal’s day earlier this week, we thought we’d create our own farm on camp today. You could come as a farmyard animal like a cow or a duck or get your tweed at the ready and come as a farmer!
It’s National Lookalike day this weekend (20th April) so we thought we'd make today an opportunity for you to come dressed up as someone else! This could be someone you know well, someone you admire or someone famous like your favourite sports star – the choice is yours!
In celebration of Earth Day earlier this week (22nd April), let your outfit be inspired by something that makes up our lovely planet. You could represent the ocean by wearing blue and green or come as an element from the periodic table by dressing in silver or gold.
*Only open at Romford camp and Upminster camp
We hope to see a real mix on camp today. Anything patterned goes so this can include tweed, tartan, 60s inspired florals - the funkier the better! Go all out and wear a clashing combination of colour!
*Only open at Huntingdon camp
There are lots of fun calendar events celebrated throughout the year. Get your thinking cap on and expand your horizons by dressing to celebrate a particular event. You could celebrate St Patrick’s Day by wearing green, get in the carnival spirit by wearing lots of bright colours or you could wear the National dress of another country.
Get your best funky socks out today, you can even pull them up over your trousers for everyone to see. Match those socks with an awesome hair do! Plaits, sparkly headbands and Mohawks all acceptable!
In 1929, the author JM Barrie gifted his copyright of Peter Pan to Great Ormond Street Hospital. In 2019 we're working with GOSH as our Charity of the Year so today we encourage you to sprinkle a little fairy dust around camp by coming as a character from Peter Pan!
There' s already so much colour on camp with all the fun activities we do so how about a bit of contrast by wearing only black and white today. It'll really make the other colours on camp stand out!
Billy invites you to join him for a beach party inspired day at camp. Colourful tops, Hawaiian shirts and sunglasses are all good. There’s only one rule – no flip flops! (It’s a bit hard to do sports in these).
Who’s behind the mask? Today we’re being inspired by posh masquerade balls and wearing mysterious masks. Don’t worry if you haven’t got one already, there'll be an opportunity to create one on camp today if you'd like to.
Be inspired by your favourite season today. If spring's your favourite you could wear a flowery top to represent the spring flowers. Or how about some autumnal colours? If you really do wish it could be Christmas every day, get in the festive spirit super early and wear something Christmassy!
Hairy werewolves and zoned out zombies are welcomed today for an early Halloween celebration. Get some practice at being frightfully fantastic!
*Only open at Huntingdon camp
