Following our annual winter review and having read all the feedback from the 2016 seasons, we have made a change to the upper age level of the BX+ group and now only take children up to 14 years old.
As the BX+ group spend half their day with the oldest group on camp, they were often mixing with 11 and 12 year olds. We felt that the development differences between 11 and 16 year old children made it inappropriate to be engaged in the same activities on safety and welfare levels.
The Barracudas activities and structure also requires almost 100% supervision, which is not appropriate for children of this age range who should be allowed more independence. Within this structure, we are currently unable to provide something separate for the oldest children.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause individual families and hope you understand our reasoning. And for those who really miss us, we look forward to receiving staff applications in a few years time!
