- Why Barracudas?
- Work for us
Throughout the pandemic we've put the safety of you, your children and our staff first.
As from 16th August rules have been relaxed in England. People fully vaccinated or under 18 will not need to self-isolate after close contact with someone who has COVID-19. You’ll still need to take a PCR test and self-isolate if it’s positive, or if you have symptoms.
The COVID-19 controls for our summer camps are in line with the current government guidance.
Requirements have been reduced following the latest guidance, however we do encourage social distancing and adults to wear face masks during registration and collection to minimise the risk, reducing the unnecessary need for self isolation.
Please note that according to The DfE, secondary school aged children are still required to continue with twice weekly LFD testing if they're attending a camp. If your child has a positive result, please inform us of this and do not bring them in to camp.
Your booking is COVID-19 FINANCIALLY RISK FREE! If we were to have to cancel your camp due to COVID-19, we'll offer you a credit or refund. If your child has to self isolate, we'll give you a credit to use another time and if you have a Flex booking we can also offer you a refund.
Our team are working to ensure that we're always fully up to date with the current guidance and we have all the safety measures put in place to be able to deliver maximum fun in a safe environment.
We’ve developed 4 key strategies as part of our COVID-19 policy, known as the Barracudas 4P’s.
We're looking forward to seeing your child at camp for a summer of fun!
During Easter we'll have a limited number of places at camp with group sizes at a maximum of 15 children (24 max for Early Years Groups). Group sizes will return to normal for May half term but groups will be in bubbles.
Groups to return to normal for summer.
We’ll still operate with our preferential staff:child ratios, so they’ll still get the attention they deserve!
Due to the additional precautions needed to keep our camps COVID-19 responsible, activities such as motor sports, fencing and inflatables will not be scheduled on our timetables for our Easter camps or May half term camps.
Activities to return to normal for summer 2021 as per the government update on 12th July.
Where a camp has a swimming pool, we’ll still be offering swimming on the timetable. Due to group sizes, during Easter this should be offered at least once a week for each group and twice a week during summer.
We've developed our comprehensive 4 P's to make sure our camps operating responsibly. This covers Planning, Premises, Processes and People.
We've introduced contactless check in and collection at camp. You'll be emailed your unique QR code to safely and securely register and sign your child out each day. You can also download our new parent app which we introduced this Easter for handy access to your QR code and additional camp information.
There'll be additional COVID-19 risk assessments, processes and signage at camp. We encourage adults to wear a face mask during registration and collection and to observe social distancing and follow the one way system to minimise risk.
There'll be additional hand washing and sanitising throughout the day as well as additional cleaning of facilities and equipment.
Camp staff will be required to take the LFT test twice a week.
Parents will be asked to confirm their child has no symptoms when entering camp, as will all members of staff. Staff will be equipped with appropriate PPE when in contact with parents and administering first aid.
If a child develops COVID-19 symptoms at camp they will be taken to a dedicated isolation area and their parent/s will be immediately informed. The child will remain in the isolation area until their parent or guardian are able to collect them.
On collection we will ask that the child has a test and that we are informed of the results as soon as possible.
Once the child has left camp all areas where they've been and resources they've touched will be fully cleaned and disinfected.
If we have news of a confirmed case of COVID-19 at camp we will work with NHS Test and Trace to identify any close contacts who they will then contact.
If we're unable to operate your camp during the week you book, we will move your booking to another week during that holiday, or to another season in the year. Where this isn’t possible, we’ll give a credit note to use with us another time, or we’ll offer you a full refund. Find the full details in section 10 of our Terms and Conditions.
Your booking is risk free. If your child has to self isolate due to COVID-19 we'll offer to change your dates or give you a credit note. If your booking has the Flex cover we'll also be able to offer you a refund.
