It’s that time of year again, Sports Relief will be returning to our televisions on the 23rd March for an evening full of fundraising events for charity.
If haven’t already, why not get the kids involved this year and get active to raise money for charity. No idea what to do? Don’t worry, we have some fantastic ideas here:
Set a daily challenge
Over the course of a week, agree on daily challenges and ask your friends and family for sponsors. For example, all agree to walk 10,000 steps on one day and on the second you will need to do 100 sit ups. You can even make it into a competition by seeing who can do the most!
This one is perfect for those budding footballers in the family. Ask people to sponsor 50p for every keepie-uppie your child manages to do!
Join an event
There are plenty of fundraising events out there that children and adults can take part in. So why not make it a family day out with you all signing up and taking part in the event?
Sponsored bike ride
It doesn’t need to be a bike ride, it could be any sport your children enjoy, such as swimming, running or just playing netball! Get them to ask their family members to sponsor them and take the sponsor form into work to give them that extra push!
Make a new dance
Does your child love to dance? They will be sure to love this one. Get your family members to make up a dance move and sponsor your child 50p for your child to perform that dance move. Once everyone has given your child a dance move they can then perform the full dance in-front of the whole family!
Remember, raising money isn’t all about how much you raise, the smallest amount can make such a big difference to those in need. So don’t worry about raising hundreds of pounds – make sure you and your family are having fun!
