We're all about the fun at Barracudas. Kids are entertained and energised with our unrivalled activities every day.
We like to shake things up at our holiday clubs! Each week, children can enjoy activities tweaked to our weekly theme. Whether they're joining us for a day or the whole holiday, our weekly themes mean there's always something fresh and exciting going on.
Barracudas has always been about choice, with children getting to choose their activity for each of our 6 daily sessions. Our fun spin on a variety of activities are a great addition and give them the opportunity to be part of something special and unique each week.
The excitement builds up to our Friday Finales. With a unique special event, there's always a buzz on the last day of the week at camp. On top of that, kids are invited to dress up on the last day of the week by coming in outfits that match the theme. Of course, it's their choice to dress up (did we mention we're all about choice?!) and they can also make props matching the theme in the arts and crafts sessions. We love seeing their imaginations run wild.
Here's snapshot of what's in store for 2023:
Easter weekly themes
3rd - 6th April: Future Me
What do they want to be when they grow up? This week's theme is Future Me. We've got fun activities in store that could ignite some future careers. They could be taking part in a superstar talent show, science experiments, mini-olympics, art attack and the apprentice. Friday's their chance to step into the future by coming to camp as a footballer, artist, musician, inventor, scientist... or Camp Manager maybe!
11th - 14th April: Fit for a King or Queen
Friday's Theme Day is Fit For a King or Queen. This week children might take part in activities such as crown making in arts and crafts, speed staking, royal bunting making and Kin(g)ball. On Friday, we invite children to let their imagination run wild and come to camp as knights, dragons, Cinderella, Queen of Hearts, a court jester or even go regal in royal colours.
May Half Term weekly theme:
29th May – 2nd June: Around the world
With our Around the world theme, we will celebrate countries, cultures and communities around the world. Where have they been to, where would they love to explore? Maybe they'll make flags in arts and crafts, or play capture the flag. On Friday we would love to see anything that represent cultures around the world. Come in colours of flags, as national animals or even emblems.
Summer weekly themes:
17th - 21st July: Intrepid adventurers
It's all about adventures at camp this week. Kids will love to build in their own dens in the woodlands, clay creatures and team building with orienteering challenges. We're looking forward to them rocking their looks on Friday! Come as your favourite explorer or discovery! Wear your jungle, space or maritime wear or come to camp with a compass and maps.
24th – 28th July: Animal avatar
Camp is going wild this week! We’re channelling our inner creatures and will be roaring and soaring through a full on week of fun. Maybe they'll try some animal acting in dance and drama, favourite animal face paints, create animal masks or even run wild in our outdoor activities! On Friday, come as your favourite animal, or in your favourite animal print. Whether flesh, fish or fowl we’re looking forward to seeing lots of wild and wonderful creatures at camp.
31st July – 4th August: The greatest show
Roll up, roll up for our Greatest Show theme! Kids’ll have all the fun of the fair at camp this week. Children will love to show off their talents in our superstar talent show, or create their own performances in dance and drama. Friday's their chance to channel your inner ring master, juggler, clown, trapeze artist or strong man or woman. Jazz things up with pom poms, ribbons or top hats.
7th –11th August: Under the sea
We're diving in to our sea theme this week. Kids will have a splashing time taking part in our marine life theme. This week children will take part in activities such as creating their own under the sea crafts and aqua sliding their way through the ocean. Rock the seaside vibe at camp on Friday. Come to camp in shorts, sundresses, t-shirts, flip-flops and don't forget your sun hats and shades!
14th – 18th August: Sports heroes
Here at Barracudas every day is a sports day for us. It'll be a sporting spectacular at camp with mini Olympics, creating your teams song, making medals out of clay and even team colour face paints! End the week with a bang; join in the fun with the ultimate Sports Day attire, pick your favourite sportsman or sportswoman and spend a day in their trainers.
21st – 25th August: Colours of the rainbow
We're keeping it bright and beautiful at camp, celebrating all things colour! From creating the most colourful piece in arts and crafts to our colour themed mini Olympics. On Friday the options are endless, anything goes! Come all in 1 colour or mix it up with all the colours of the rainbow. Coordination or clashing colours or even go minimalist in monochrome.
October Half Term weekly theme
23rd – 27th October: Happy Halloween
Booooo! We're looking forward to a spooktacular week this October. Whether they're making slime, learning our monster dance or playing pumpkin ball, they'll have a ball at camp this week. We're looking forward to ending the week in style and welcome monsters, witches, zombies, hairy werewolves, ghosts, ghouls and wizards to camp on Friday.
Bags of fun, every day!
Of course, we always offer an unrivalled range of over 80+ activities at camp. These activities are available as part of our usual variety of options, to deliver the experience you expect. There's always a choice at Barracudas and children are in control of what they choose to take part in. Our themes are just an additional layer of their unique experience at camp.
We look forward to welcoming your child to Barracudas for a unique and amazing experience!
