What an amazing week we had at our summer camps last week!
Once again, there was so much going on throughout our 49 camps and kids enjoyed another week of fun, trying new things, making new friends, developing skills and growing their confidence.
We also had our last week at 23 of our sites. We look forward to the next season at these camps and and can’t wait to be back for school holiday fun.
We still have 24 camps open this week, so there’s still plenty of opportunities to make memories that’ll last a lifetime.
Here are just some of our standout moments from last week:
Weekly theme
Last week’s theme couldn’t have been more appropriate! We celebrated our sports heroes at camp throughout the week. A big shout out to England’s Lionesses for reaching the World Cup. We may not have won, but in our eyes, they’re winners as they’ve inspired a generation of girls and boys, showing us all what we can achieve.
Here’s a little snapshot of we got up to at camp:
Highlights from a few of our summer camps
Ware
On Monday the Piranhas group made Hogwarts out of Connetix. Children across our camps have loved this new piece of kit this summer. We've loved seeing them developing imagination, design, engineering and motor skills! Well done for this amazing construction!
Bedford
Bedford camp was super excited about our weekly theme, threading through tweaked activities throughout the week and making the most of our fantastic range of sports activities. We love their Olympic rings photo from Monday and all the football fun girls and boys had in the run up to the Womens World Cup.
Chislehurst
Our BX+ course is a great way for older kids to keep engaged and develop skills at camp. They can shaddow our staff and find out what it's like to work on camp. They get the chance to work with younger groups, demonstrating leadership skills and experiencing a growth in confidence. Here's our BX+ children helping the Minnows with face painting. Fun all round!
Sharing our favourite moments at summer camp
TikToks
Our camps are loving getting involved in creating TikToks this summer. Hutton gave us a fantastic roundup of what’s been going on at camp this summer. Sevenoaks entertained us with their wonderful dancing (featuring Sam, our Head Office team mate). Hayes showed us a day in the life of Billy Barracuda and we enjoyed a glimpse into our fun sports day at Huntingdon camp.
Hutton gave us an introduction to the camp staff, one of our Dolphin children and showed us a selection of fun field games. Canterbury gave a sneak peak at camp on Monday from Motorsports and archery sessions to swimming and arts and crafts. Ely showed us some of their moments including the water park, outdoor yoga and our charity fundraising activity: soak the staff. Romford showed us aqua slide fun as well as Badminton and Powerball and lots more. Salisbury kept us smiling with a roundup of all the fun on our special Friday Finale sports day.
We love to share our favourite photos and what better way than with our photo of the day and session of the day which we publish on our social media pages.
We had some fantastic photos to choose from again but had to pick our favourites.
Photo of the day
Norwich’s Motorsports session pipped the top on Monday. Children on our BX+ course loved getting involved with face painting at Chislehurst on Tuesday and we loved the smiley faces at Canterbury on Wednesday. Cambridge Long Road camp enjoyed some water park fun on Thursday and Billy was feeling the love at Upminster camp on Friday.
Session of the day
Children at Ware camp were enjoying our brand new Connetix set on Monday and we went old school on Tuesday at Cambridge Long Road with a super fun sack race. Another water park session, this time at Romford, hit the spot on Wednesday. Hutton camp thrilled our younger camps with Parachute games on Thursday and we ended the week with Face painting at Chislehurst.
We’re committed to providing amazing experiences for every child at camp. We also aim to satisfy our bookers with easy processes and convenience. Here’s what parents said about us last week:
Trustpilot
“Great fun, friendly staff. The kids enjoyed their third experience at the camp. Loads of activities, friendly staff and well organised.” Agboola
“What a great camp! My son has the best time with his friends at the watford site and he especially enjoys the swimming. The check in using the QR code is quick and the staff are always singing and dancing to music in the mornings. It’s a very happy place!" M. Coca
“Barracudas Norwich is great! This is the second year my daughter, almost six, has attended some days at Barracudas and she has loved it just as much this year. She loves swimming and the choices for activities she gets are brilliant - what five year old doesn’t love a bouncy castle? The team is so well organised and it’s a relief to know that she is safe and having a fun day whilst we are working. Thank you to all of the team at Norwich High School!” Kathryn
“Absolutely love barracudas Bedford. The team I lovely and want to thank Tomas for helping to book a place for my daughter with such a short notice 🙂” Sarah
“Another great summer at High Wycombe Barracudas for our 2. The team are fantastic with the children, high energy, lots of encouragement to try new things & generally fab. Special thank yous to Emily, Lucy, Emily, Izzy & Tom P ☺️👏🏻😊” Pamela
“My 5 year old son absolutely loved it. He's quite shy and can find it hard to make new friends or try new things, so we're always apprehensive with new clubs. But seeing how confident he has been since going there and excited to go in is wonderful. There's a great range of activities from arts/drama/dance etc to sports activities, swim, bouncy castles and his favourite, motor car racing, so there's something for everyone and they mix it up to keep them entertained. I would definitely recommend it. We've had no problem at drop off / collection either, all experiences have been professional and well organised..” Nadine
So, with just this week left, we’re looking forward to lots of activities, making friendships and creating lasting memories at our remaining summer camps.
If you need a last minute activity, we have a few remaining places!
