Educational and fun breaks for you and your family
13/03/2019
From 30th March until the 7th April 2019, England will be celebrating English Tourism Week.
The UK is full of beautiful wonders which a lot of people aren’t even aware of. There are also many educational places you can explore for developing those young minds.
We’ve picked some of the best places to travel in the UK with the family that are both educational and fun!
Jurassic Coast – Dorset
This is the perfect place to go with the kids if you like to explore and go searching for treasure. There are thousands of fossils to be found on the beach, but make sure you stay on the beach at Charmouth as this is the safest area for you and your family to search. This is ideal if your children are studying the dinosaur topic at school! Not sure where to stay? There are loads of places to choose from here.
Shakespeare’s Birthplace – Stratford-Upon-Avon
Are your children learning about Shakespeare in school? If they are, treat them to a visit to Shakespeare’s birthplace and walk in the footsteps of the house where it all begun. There is also a range of different activities for your children to get up to as there are a variety of events that take place during the Easter and summer holidays.
The Eden Project – Cornwall
Teach your children the wonders of the rainforest by visiting the Eden Project. They have a fun packed calendar with multiple activities running throughout the year. They even have a zipwire for those little daredevils!
Harry Potter Railway
If you and your family love Harry Potter then there are multiple places in the UK which you can visit. Firstly, there is the Goathland railway station in North Yorkshire which is used in the first Harry Potter film and in Heartbeat. It’s a beautiful location to visit even if you aren’t a Harry Potter fan. Or if you’re looking for a trip closer to home, there is the Harry Potter Studio Tour in Watford. We’re even running a competition to win a family ticket here!
