Summer Camp Week 3 Highlights: Sports Stars and Super Stars Shine at Barracudas!
Another fantastic week of summer camp has come to a close, and children across our camps have been shining brightly as part of our Sports Stars and Super Stars Weekly Theme.
From teamwork challenges and sporting activities to confidence-building creative sessions, children celebrated what it means to be a star both on and off the activity field. Whether mastering a new skill, showing kindness to others, displaying determination, or simply trying something new, every child had the opportunity to be a superstar this week.
Alongside our Weekly Theme, children enjoyed our unrivalled range of activities, swimming sessions, specialist experiences and Friday Finale celebrations, making it another action-packed week of summer fun.
This week also marked Staff Appreciation Week, where we celebrated our incredible seasonal staff and recognised their contribution to creating amazing experiences for children throughout the summer. Their energy, enthusiasm and dedication help make every Barracudas camp a place where children can thrive.
Celebrating Our Sports Stars and Super Stars
Throughout the week, children explored what makes a great sporting role model and a true superstar.
Across camp, children demonstrated teamwork, resilience, leadership, creativity and sportsmanship through a huge variety of activities. Whether taking part in football, motor sports, swimming, dance, team games, arts and crafts or active play sessions, children were encouraged to celebrate their achievements and support one another.
The theme was brought to life through energetic activities, confidence-building challenges and opportunities for children to develop new skills while having fun with friends.
Sporting Fun Across Camp
Sport and active games were a huge highlight this week.
Children enjoyed a wide variety of sessions including:
Football
Dodgeball
Motor Sports
Archery
Swimming
Aero Ball
Barrumba Dance
Team Building Challenges
Active Play
Multi-Activity Sessions
At Bishops, children were fully engaged in organised football sessions and exciting AeroBall activities.
Chelmsford delivered excellent Dodgeball, Active Play and Motor Sports sessions, while Norwich's varied timetable included team-building games designed to develop communication and teamwork skills.
Harpenden's Barrumba sessions were another standout, combining movement, creativity and confidence-building as children learned routines before creating their own performances.
A Splashing Good Time
Swimming continues to be one of the most popular activities at Barracudas, and this week saw children making the most of pool sessions across our camps.
From Barnet and Brighton to Cobham, Ripley and Chelmsford, swimming sessions were delivered safely, professionally and with high levels of child engagement. Children built confidence in the water, practised their skills and, most importantly, had lots of fun.
Camps without pools didn't miss out on the fun, children thoroughly enjoyed our outdoor water fun activities with our super soakers and sponge games as well as cooling off zooming down the aqua slide!
More Than Just Activities
At Barracudas, being a superstar isn't only about sport.
Children enjoyed creative, imaginative and enriching experiences throughout the week. At Godalming, Forest School sessions encouraged children to explore nature through bark rubbing activities, while Arts and Crafts sessions across camp provided opportunities for creativity, self-expression and mindfulness.
At Cobham, children also enjoyed a popular Pyjama Day fundraiser, helping raise money for charity while creating a fun and positive atmosphere across camp.
Celebrating Our Amazing Staff
Staff Appreciation Week provided the perfect opportunity to recognise the incredible people who make Barracudas special.
Across our camps, staff have continued to deliver engaging activities, support children's wellbeing, build confidence and create memorable experiences every day. From experienced camp leaders to those stepping into new roles this summer, their passion and dedication have shone through all week.
The positive feedback received from parents, children and visitors continues to highlight the outstanding work our teams do across the country.
Friday Finale Celebrations
Our Sports Stars and Super Stars week concluded with another exciting Friday Finale celebration.
Children reflected on their achievements, celebrated new friendships, recognised personal successes and enjoyed coming together to finish the week on a high.
Whether they had developed a new skill, overcome a challenge, shown kindness to others or simply thrown themselves into every activity, every child had their moment to shine.
