Summer Camp Week 2 Highlights: Exploring the World at Barracudas!
Another fantastic week of summer camp has flown by, and what an adventure it has been!
This week, children became global explorers as part of our World Explorers theme, travelling across continents, discovering different cultures, learning about traditions from around the world, and taking part in themed activities inspired by countries far and wide.
Combined with our unrivalled choice of activities, premium experiences, swimming sessions, and outdoor adventures, it made for another unforgettable week of fun.
Around the World in Five Days
Our World Explorers theme sparked curiosity, creativity and imagination throughout camp.
At Watford, children in Explore 'n' Play learned about different countries, explored flags from around the world, and even discovered how to say "hello" in different languages. They created a colourful collaborative display featuring handprints decorated with greetings from countries they had chosen themselves, a fantastic celebration of diversity and learning through play.
Across many camps, Explore 'n' Play and Arts & Crafts sessions incorporated global themes, helping children discover new cultures while having fun with friends.
Unrivalled Choice Every Day
With over 80 exciting activities available and children choosing their activities throughout the day, every week at Barracudas offers something different.
Popular activities this week included:
Swimming
Motor Sports
Archery
Fencing
Aqua Slide
Large Inflatable Assault Courses
Football Camp
Arts and Crafts
Team games
Bouncy Castle
Children at Cambridge St Faith's continued enjoying our exciting activity trials, including Dragon Boats and Axe Throwing, while Cambridge Long Road saw children taking part in action-packed Laser Tag sessions.
The feedback from these specialist activities has been fantastic, with children embracing the opportunity to try something new and exciting.
Making a Splash in the Summer Sunshine
With temperatures rising this week, swimming sessions and water-based activities proved more popular than ever.
Across camps including Bedford, Brighton, Farnham, High Wycombe, Letchworth, Romford and many more, children enjoyed safe, well-organised swimming sessions led by our experienced lifeguards and camp teams.
At Harpenden, Aqua Slide sessions were a particular highlight, with children having a brilliant time while staff ensured sessions remained engaging, safe and full of energy.
For camps without pools, water play activities helped children stay cool while still enjoying active outdoor fun with their friends.
Football, Fencing and Fantastic New Experiences
Week 2 saw the launch of Football Camp at Chelmsford, where young footballers got off to a great start, developing skills, confidence and teamwork in a fun and supportive environment.
Elsewhere, children enjoyed specialist sessions including fencing, motor sports and archery, all designed to challenge, inspire and build confidence.
At Chigwell, the impressive climbing wall was proving popular, while Bedford's fencing sessions and Brighton's tailored motor sports activities received excellent feedback from both children and staff.
Brilliant Teams Creating Amazing Experiences
One of the reasons Barracudas continues to be trusted by families year after year is our incredible camp teams.
Across the country, experienced Camp Managers, Early Years Managers, Group Leaders, Lifeguards and Activity Leaders worked together to deliver safe, engaging and memorable experiences for every child.
This week we saw:
Strong swimming and activity sessions across multiple camps
Creative themed activities linked to World Explorers
Excellent support for children in Early Years groups
Fantastic staff engagement and enthusiasm, even during some of the hottest days of the summer so far
Proactive sun safety measures, regular water breaks and shaded activity areas helping children stay comfortable while enjoying their day
Many camps received praise for their welcoming registration areas, colourful displays, strong organisation and the positive relationships staff continue to build with both children and parents.
Creating a Premium Camp Experience
From giant welcome displays and colourful bunting to themed artwork and creative base rooms, our teams have continued to go above and beyond in creating exciting camp environments.
Parents arriving at camps such as Ely, High Wycombe, Woking and Horsham were greeted by vibrant registration areas, clear signage and welcoming staff, helping create a positive experience from the moment families arrive each morning.
These little details all contribute to the Barracudas experience and help make every child feel excited for the day ahead.
Friday Finale Celebrations
As always, the week ended with our much-loved Friday Finale celebrations.
Children reflected on everything they had achieved throughout the week, celebrated new friendships, shared favourite memories, and enjoyed recognising the skills and confidence they had developed during their World Explorers adventure.
There were plenty of smiles, laughter and proud moments as another successful week came to a close.
Captured Moments Around Camps

With exciting weekly themes, specialist activities, swimming, premium experiences and endless opportunities for children to make memories, there is still plenty of summer fun to come.
A huge thank you to all of our fantastic staff, children and families for helping make Week 2 such a success. We can't wait to see where next week's adventure takes us!
