👉 At camp, you might stumble across surprises too when solving clues…
🧭 Marco Polo: The Great Traveller
Venetian born Marco Polo travelled all the way from Europe to China over 700 years ago; without planes, trains, or cars!
Fun fact: His journeys took over 20 years, and he wrote about amazing things like paper money (which seemed unbelievable at the time!).
👉 Could you travel that far with just your backpack and curiosity?
🌎 Ferdinand Magellan: Around the World Adventurer
Ferdinand Magellan, from Portugal, led the first expedition to sail all the way around the Earth.
Fun fact: The journey took about 3 years and although Magellan didn’t complete the whole trip himself, his team proved the world is round by sailing across every ocean!
❄️ Ernest Shackleton: The Ice Explorer
Ernest Shackleton, from Ireland, explored the freezing cold land of Antarctica.
Fun fact: His ship got trapped in ice, but he still managed to rescue every single member of his crew. That’s some serious bravery and teamwork!
👉 At camp, you’ll need teamwork too for your missions!
🏔️ Amelia Earhart: Sky Explorer
Amelia Earhart was a fearless pilot and the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.
Fun fact: She set many flying records and in 1937 set out to fly around the world, but her plane vanished over the Pacific Ocean and has never been found.
🌿 David Attenborough: Nature Explorer
David Attenborough has travelled the world discovering incredible animals and environments.
Fun fact: He’s helped people learn about creatures from the deepest oceans to the highest jungles and he’s still exploring even today!
