Some of our moments from our first week at summer camp 2025!
We’re back — and what a week it’s been!
The first week of Barracudas Summer Camps 2025 is in full swing, and we’ve kicked off the summer with smiles, sunshine (sometimes!), and plenty of action-packed fun. With 14 camps already open and buzzing with energy, we’ve loved welcoming so many new and returning families to camp.
If you haven’t finalised your summer plans yet — don’t worry! We’ve still got places available across our camps and you can book online 24/7. It’s not too late to join the adventure!
☀️ Weekly Theme: Wonders of the World
From crafting famous landmarks to themed games and team challenges, our camps embraced this week’s globe-trotting theme with creative energy. Explore and Play sessions brought the world to life for our Early Years, while older groups tackled sporty takes on world wonders! As ever, we're ending the week with a bang; Friday Finale fun - bring it on!
🏕️ Around Our Camps
Cambridge Long Road
Our blue shirt (senior) team have led the way to a strong start with fun and safety at the centre. From a high-energy rounders game to imaginative Arts & Crafts and a smooth Motor Mania session, the team have adapted well to mixed weather, with fantastic indoor and outdoor facilities, we're making good use of this fantastic venue.
Hemel Hempstead
Camp is buzzing with energy and children are loving our specialist archery and motorsports sessions! Highlights included a lively Billy Fitness session and a fantastic mini-Olympics event.
Barnet
A busy week with lots of children and fun! Activities like the Billy Hunt and swimming sessions were standouts. Children have loved trying something new with the motorsports sessions.
Norwich
This camp is off to a stellar start! The Early Years displays look amazing, the site is organised, and plans for the aqua park are underway. Archery sessions are giving children the chance to try something new, and the registration area is looking fantastic.
High Wycombe
It's been a strong and smooth start to the season. The Early Years provision here has been excellent, with skilful transitions and top-quality sessions. Our returning staff have done a great job maximising activity time — a great example of experience in action.
Farnham
A buzzing site with lots of children! Registration has that “wow” factor and the sessions have been fantastic — particularly tennis and water play. We're loving the positive atmosphere on camp!
Twickenham St Catherine’s
The swimming and Explore & Play sessions were clear favourites with the children this week. Strong relationships are already forming with our excellent seasonal staff and children (and parents!) We also had a positive visit from Ofsted (details to be released later)!
Ripley
Our swimming sessions have delivered a splashingly good time, and children have had a blast on the bouncy castle. Spirits are high and we're looking forward to a fun season at camp.
Streatham & Clapham
The water park was a big hit this week! Archery and motorsports joined the line-up once the weather cleared. Children have also enjoyed getting active in sessions on the astro.
Bedford
A calm, welcoming site with confident leadership from our Camp Manager and Senior team. The vibrant registration is setting the scene for the fun and adventure on camp and providing a great first impression for parents.
Bushey
We loved the innovation from our Senior Sports Instructor — a Traitors-style afternoon game had staff and children hooked! This is what Barracudas is all about - unique experiences. Great start to one of our newer camps.
Maidenhead
Multi Activity sessions were a highlight, and we’re thrilled to see the team off to a strong, energetic start. Another Ofsted inspection in our first week and we'll be pleased to share the results when they're released!
Ware
Children have particularly loved the swimming sessions and activities have started full throttle, with our outstanding Senior Sports Instructor - shout out to Amy!

Staff member of the week
We know how important our camp staff are to keeping children active, safe and having the time of their lives at camp. This week we're celebrating our Arts & Crafts Instructor at Twickenham St Catherine's camp. Here's what the Camp Manager had to say about Mia:
"Mia is our incredible Arts and Crafts instructor who runs fun and engaging sessions. She is brand new this season. Within 10 minutes, she had the starfish creating their own globes and decorating aeroplanes to hang up at registration! I think what says the most is how much the Ofsted inspector liked the session, finishing her sentence about it with 'just amazing really isn't she!'. And we couldn't think of a better way to put it. She is calm and kind, making the arts and crafts space just a wonderful environment for the kids, She may even be an 8th wonder of the world!!"
