Get gooey in the kitchen with the kids as we celebrate World Chocolate Week!
Here is a selection of our favourite chocolate recipes for the whole family to enjoy:
Easy chocolate cake
One of the simplest chocolate recipes and probably one of the tastiest!
You will need; 340g self-raising flour, 43g of cocoa, 340g castor sugar, 76g butter (softened), 170g milk and 2 eggs.
To start you will need to preheat the oven to 180°C and grease or paper a 24cm cake tin and set aside. Next pour all of the ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix together using a mixer for around 4 minutes.
Put all of the mixture into the baking tin and bake in the oven for 35 – 40 minutes. Once baked, take the cake out of the oven and enjoy! Find the full recipe here.
A very simple, no bake recipe to make with the children.
You will need; 225g chocolate, 125g rice crispies (or other cereal) and 3tbsp golden syrup.
Firstly, you will need to melt the chocolate in a saucepan over a low heat or in the microwave. Stir in the rest of the ingredients and mix together until all of the crispies are covered in chocolate. Once mixed spoon the mixture into cases and leave to cool.

Kids will love these small treats and they are also perfect for parties too!
You will need; 100g plain chocolate, 5 tablespoons soured cream, 125g chocolate biscuit crumbs, 5 tbsp chocolate biscuit crumbs, 5 tbsp icing sugar, 24 silver dragees (silver balls), 25g flaked almonds and 12 5cm liquorice strings.
To start, melt the chocolate and mix together with the soured cream. Stir in 125g of the chocolate biscuit crumbs and then cover and chill the mixture until it is firm. Next, roll the mixture into balls and slightly point at one end to form the mouse’s nose.
Roll each mouse into the icing sugar – icing sugar for the white mice and chocolate biscuit crumbs for the dark mice. On each mouse place the dragees in the appropriate spots for eyes, the almond flakes for ears and the liquorice for a tail.
Finally, chill the mice for 2 hours until they are firm and then enjoy! Find the full recipe here.
