Wow - that was a summer of fun! With our 42 activity day camps closed for the summer, we look back at the amazing things that happened at Barracudas this year.
As the kids are back at school and routines return to normal, take 5 to read the highlights from summer 2018.
Official approval from Ofsted!
Ofsted officials were busy this summer - with not 1, but 7 Barracudas camp visits!
Well done to our teams at Barnet, Bedford, Harlow, Maidstone, Norwich, St Albans and Watford who all achieved Outstanding or Good ratings.
We work hard to make sure that kids have an amazing time at our school holiday clubs. Whilst we get our confirmation from the reaction of the kids and parents, it’s great to know the officials also give us their approval!
Staff get gooey to raise money for charity
We think it’s important to give something back. Each year we encourage our multi-activity camp staff and kids to raise money for our chosen charity, Children with Cancer.
This year we introduced our ‘What’s in the Welly’ challenge. Each week the kids at camp voteed for the staff member to wear the gooey wellies. The team member with the most votes had the pleasure of submerging their feet into wellies filled with all sorts of delights!
Thanks to the children who voted - and for our good humoured team for taking part! We’ll publish the total raised once the numbers are in.
Kids go wild on Barracudas Theme Days
Our Theme Days are a great way to end a week of fun. Every Friday we have a different theme for everyone to have the chance to go wild and dress up.
We had another season of fab themes and the kids really let their imaginations run wild! From amazing animals to superb super heroes, children went to town this summer.
Introducing a new Roaming Activity for 2018
We welcomed team building specialists, Commando Joe’s, to many of our childrens camps this year.
As our newest Roaming Activity, this gave kids the chance to experience what it’s like to be a real life explorer! Endorsed by Sir Ranalph Fiennes, the elite instructors at Commando Joe’s visited a number of our camps this summer. They recreated the challenges from real life expeditions so children could test if they could be the next Eric Larson or Jessica Watson.
This, as well as all our Roaming Activities, including Zorbing, Demolition Ball and the Sweeper, got a resounding thumbs up from the kids this year.
We want to say a huge thank you to all the kids and staff who made this yet another amazing summer to remember!
