Saturday 7th July is World Chocolate day and what a better way to celebrate it than eating lots of chocolate!
Get those children away from those devices and into the kitchen with these tasty chocolate recipes.
No bake Nutella cheesecake
This cake is perfect for those Nutella lovers out there! You will need: 1 packet of Nice biscuits, 80g of unsalted butter, ¾ cup of toasted hazelnuts, 1 small jar of Nutella, 500g cream cheese, 80g of icing sugar.
To make the cheesecake you will need to line a 23cm round springform pan with baking paper and set aside. In a food processer place the biscuits and pulse a few times to make a rough crumb. Add the crumbs into a bowl with butter, hazelnuts and 1tbsp of Nutella and mix together until it is combined.
Next, press the crumbs together into the baking pan and pop into the fridge to chill. Using a mixer mix the cream crease, the remainder of the Nutella and icing sugar until it is thoroughly mixed. Pour the mixture over your chilled base and chill in the fridge for a further 3-4 hours. Enjoy! You can find the full recipe here.
These truffles are so easy to make, all you will need is 1 tin of condensed milk, knob of butter, 4 tbs cocoa, selection of coatings and 20 mini cases.
To start you will need to pour the condensed milk, butter and cocoa into a pan and mix well. Heat the pan gently whilst stirring all the time until the mixture thickens. Once the mixture has thickened enough so you can see the bottom of the pan clearly when mixed, set it to one side to cool. Next, grease your hands with butter and take a teaspoon sized amount and roll it into a ball.
Finally, pop in your chosen coating and put them into your mini cases. Find the full recipe here.
Salted chocolate frozen banana bites
Make your chocolate treats healthy with these banana bites! You will need, 3 ripe bananas, 1 cup of chocolate chips, 1tbsp of coconut oil, coarse sea salt and cocktail forks.
Firstly, cut the bananas into small bite sizes and place onto some foil. Once you have placed all of your bananas, poke them with a cocktail fork and freeze them for up to 2 hours until frozen.
In the meantime, stir together the chocolate chips and the coconut oil into a microwave safe bowl. Place this into the microwave and cook on high for 30 seconds. Remove and stir. Continue this process, stirring in 15 second intervals until the chocolate has melted. Once melted remove the bowl and pour it over your bananas and sprinkle with sea salt. Place back onto a cold baking sheet until dried. Serve immediately or re-freeze. Find the full recipe here.
