With the Easter camps now over and the kids back to school it’s time to reflect on all of the fun we had over the past couple of weeks – and what an exciting two weeks we had!
Here at Barracudas we had a successful two weeks as we didn’t get rated Outstanding from Ofsted once, but three times at our Tonbridge and Ripley and High Wycombe camps! Well done to all of our staff who as always work their hardest to make sure all kids are having a great and safe time at camp.
500 Words Winner
If that wasn’t exciting enough, the Minnows and Dolphins at our Huntingdon camp had a very special visit on the 10th April from BBC Radios 2’s 500 words winner, Livia Turner. The kids loved listening to her story on Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, especially with her twist on Little Red Riding Hood being the bad guy! Don’t worry if you missed this, you can read the story in full here.
Every year at camp we hold a fundraising activity to raise money for our chosen charity, Children with Cancer. After our successful Pie Face activity over the past three years, we have decided to change the activity to ‘What’s in the Welly’ which was a huge hit with the kids and staff. Below is a video from our Ripley camp.
Did you notice our competition signs at camp? We asked parents to take a picture at registration and to post the image onto social media using the hashtag #ILoveBarracudas. We had a lovely selection of contenders to choose from, so thank you to those who entered! Our lucky winner was Liz Nicholls whose son attended our Hertford camp – we hope you enjoy your new camera!
The theme days during our Easter camps were ‘Around the World in 80 Ways’ and ‘Futuristic Fun’ and wow, did we see some fantastic outfits! See below our favourite outfits from the two days.
The kids at our Norwich camp were getting very creative last week and created their very own Barracudas rap!
We can’t believe it’s all over - it went in a flash! But never fear, there are now only 13 weeks left until our summer camps open!
