Skills Builder Courses
Skills Builder courses combine excitement and expertise, and are a fantastic way for kids to develop special skills!
It's a good idea to pre-book Skills Builder courses, as they often sell out. We only have a limited spaces on each course so our coaches can ensure every child taking part gets maximum benefit. Courses are only available when booking a summer week, with the exception of Swim School* which is also available at Easter.
Our M-Tech course runs over a 3 day period each week of the summer at selected camps.
Barracudas Swim School* (all ages) £40:
Swimming is one of the most important skills every young person needs to learn. Five structured sessions throughout the week builds vital skills and confidence alongside qualified lifeguards. Perfect for beginners looking to make a big splash and for those in the early stages of learning. (Max 5 children per group) Whether just starting or improving, instructors develop the child's self-belief and ability. Children just need their costume/trunks and towel and we'll provide everything else.
*Swim School is not available during Easter at Hemel Hempstead or Wokingham, or during the summer at Wokingham or Welwyn - sorry!
Lab Rats (all ages) £35:
From water rockets to making slime, giant bubbles to wacky racers, Lab Rats is bursting with FUN experiments for kids - whatever their age. (Max 8 children per group) This course is bound to capture and stretch their imagination with five hour long sessions packed full of new ideas and crazy experiments. It's entertaining, educational and exciting, but most of all, because it's Barracudas, it's FUN!
Motor Mania (age 8+) £40:
If they're made about motors they'll love Motor Mania! They'll tear across tarmac or glide across the grass, putting their skills to the test on our quad bikes and go-karts. (Max 5 children per group) As well as all the racy stuff they'll learn about safety, signals and the basic mechanics in five hour long sessions. They'll wear safety gear and have cut-off switches on all machines. They won't need their own racing leathers(!), but they will need to have long trousers and long sleeves.
Racket Pro Tennis (age 7+) £35:
Our tennis kids just love picking up a racket! They have five hour long sessions where they work on forehand, backhand, serves and volleys, as well as tactics and positional play. (Max 6 children per group) The coaches make sure the week is fully loaded with competitions, tournaments and games to make sure players progress as well as have FUN! They can bring their own rackets if they really want to but they don't need to as all equipment is supplied. If you're tennis mad and going to our Barnet or Hertford camps, sorry, we don't run the Racket-Pro couse at those sites.
M-Tech* (age 8+) £45 NEW for 2010
An exciting new music and media technology course from M-Tech, the leading provider for UK schools. Children will experience a wide range of different technology and get involved with a number of different projects including: Designing and broadcasting Podcasts and Radio Shows, Producing background music and sound effects for Video Games, Creating soundtracks to Film Trailors and TV Adverts, Learning to use VJ (visual jockey) equipment and mixing images with sound.
This course comprises 3 x 2 hour long sessions. All children will bring home a CD of their work at the end of the course. This course is suitable for all, as prior understanding of music is not a requirement. www.mtech.dj
