Singing children 'try new activities' after two hours

Summary: Children from Bury presented shows with less than a day's practice.

Youngsters from Bury, near Manchester, performed four concerts over the weekend at Castle Leisure Centre as part of Children of Bury Sing.
More than 1,000 kids performed after only a couple of hours of rehearsals beforehand, according to the Bury Times.
Director of Bury Music Service Paul Jarvis said: "The youngsters sang their hearts out and they all had a smile on their face. Everyone who came to watch the concerts said how much they enjoyed them."
Music from The Lion King and Titanic were on the programme, as were songs by The Beatles, which were sung by students from 31 local primary schools.
The show was attended by at least 500 parents, including the mayor of Bury and councillor Sheila Magnall.
Blind children were encouraged to try singing in the form of karaoke as Nippon Telesoft Co recently released a machine that produces Braille for lyrics at a rate of 80 characters at a time.
