Both mother and children love summer camp

The mother said the kids are really enjoying it and the summer camp is good preparation for their increased time at school from September.

However, an unexpected plus point of the children going to summer camp was that the writer gained some time for herself.

She said that, while at first she did not know what to do with herself, she soon realised that the household chores and shopping can be done a lot quicker without children in tow.

The writer added: "I'm looking forward to the next week and am planning to sign them up for another week in August as well. They are having fun and I'm having some me time which is much needed."
