Learn cheerleading from others at camp, blog advises
Published on 27-06-2009
Summary:
Children learning cheerleading at summer camp can develop new skills by watching those around them, it has been suggested.
A post on the Confident Cheerleading blog said that camp creates the opportunity for children to watch and learn from others.
"Cheerleading
is meant to be fun but it's also, of course, about learning new skills and refining and strengthening old skills," it explained.
The blog said that if kids watch the summer camp cheerleaders with an "open and curious mind", they may be able to work out how they perform advanced techniques and learn how to perform them themselves.
It also advised children to not limit their cheerleading skills by thinking they will never be able to perform complicated moves and said being positive will help them to train their brains to better master their bodies.
Recently, Jerry Jansen claimed on Get-Foot-Loose.com that dancing can teach children of both genders many important lessons such as discipline, teamwork and self-control, which may encourage them to try the activity at day camp.
