Day camp 'helps parents spend time away from kids'

Published on 24-06-2009

Summary:

Sending children to day camp can be a good way for parents to learn to spend time without them, a mum has suggested.

Posting on the Matrimony & Mayhem blog, a mother revealed that she recently took her daughters to day camp and found herself worrying about leaving them alone.

However, she need not have worried, as her children were more than excited at the thought of trying new activities at day camp.

"The girls had everything they needed and had no anxiety when I dropped them off. I don't even think they looked up when I left," the parent wrote on the blog.

She also revealed that when she picked her kids up from day camp one of her daughters "started talking about how great it was" and continued to make the point for the rest of the evening.

The mother added that it was a good experience to spend time without her children and admitted that she is looking forward to the next time they attend day camp, so she can spend some time in solitude.

Recently, Claire Colvin wrote on the TheLife.com that day camp can be a good way for children to learn to be independent of their parents, as well as providing them with an opportunity to try new activities.ADNFCR-2577-ID-19233518-ADNFCR
