Swimming Pools at Wokingham and Welwyn!

Following comments from parents, we now have now purchased two 24ft circular swimming pools which we will be taking to The Holt School and Sherrardswood School this summer!  Approximately 20 children can be in the pools at one time, so it is the perfect solution to add swimming on to our programme at these two camps.

Wooden Spoon

Thank you to all of our customers who once again supported Wooden Spoon in 2009.  We managed to raise in excess of £4,000 for the charity through competitions at camp and a donation made by the company for every booking made online. The money raised will go towards helping disadvantaged children in local Barracudas camp areas.

Wooden Spoon is a charity helping physically, socially and mentally disadvantaged children all over the UK and Ireland. The term “Wooden Spoon” is best known in Rugby Union and is awarded to the team that lies at the bottom of rugby’s Six Nations table each year.

Wooden Spoon, the charity, was founded in 1983 when England last “won” the Wooden Spoon. Since then the charity has been raising funds for projects that make a lasting difference to the lives of disadvantaged children.  The projects vary a lot.  Some are sports based, most are not, some are small, some large, but each one is invaluable.

250 projects have been completed. Special playgrounds, sensory rooms, hydrotherapy pools, wheelchair facilities and hospital baby units are just some of the wonderful facilities funded by Wooden Spoon.  And wherever you live in the UK, Spoon continues to raise funds for a new project near you.

Spoon’s guiding principle has been “to have fun while fundraising” and therefore Spoon is delighted to be supported by Barracudas, who give children so much fun at camp.  There are a number of ways that you can support Wooden Spoon through Barracudas – please look out for them and make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children.

You can learn more about Wooden Spoon and its’ work at www.woodenspoon.com Charity Registration No 326691
