Barracudas have now teamed up with Sports Xtra!

Having established a reputation for professionalism and quality of delivery in sport and PE within the education sector, Sports Xtra's services have been in huge demand. A passion for making sport a fun and magical experience for children, combined with an industry leading, coach education programe have proved to be a successful formula.

Their expertise in developing programmes that inspire children's confidence whilst improving performance has seen Sports Xtra coaches involved at all levels of sports developement. Whether this is working with local authorities, schools, professional clubs or institutions such as the Football Association.

Each of these courses has been specifically desgined to compliment the Barracudas programme and are delivered by qualified, professional coaches. Whether your child is new to sport or requires encouragement and confidence; or whether they are experienced performers looking to develop their skills, they are guaranteed to enjoy and benefit from their Sports Xtra course.

Wooden Spoon

This year Barracudas has chosen to support the Wooden Spoon charity to help raise funds for disadvantaged children.

Wooden Spoon is a charity helping physically, socially and mentally disadvantaged children all over the UK and Ireland. The term “Wooden Spoon” is best known in Rugby Union and is awarded to the team that lies at the bottom of rugby’s Six Nations table each year.
 
Wooden Spoon, the charity, was founded in 1983 when England last “won” the Wooden Spoon. Since then the charity has been raising funds for projects that make a lasting difference to the lives of disadvantaged children.  The projects vary a lot.  Some are sports based, most are not, some are small, some large, but each one is invaluable.
 
250 projects have been completed. Special playgrounds, sensory rooms, hydrotherapy pools, wheelchair facilities and hospital baby units are just some of the wonderful facilities funded by Wooden Spoon.  And wherever you live in the UK, Spoon continues to raise funds for a new project near you. 
 
Spoon’s guiding principle has been “to have fun while fundraising” and therefore Spoon is delighted to be supported by Barracudas, who give children so much fun at camp.  There are a number of ways that you can support Wooden Spoon through Barracudas – please look out for them and make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children.
